Sean D. Reyes is a former venture fund partner turned global freedom fighter who has led investigations and prosecutions of some of the most notorious human traffickers in America while risking his life on covert operations to rescue children from modern day slavery around the world.

Reyes is an executive producer of the hit A&E show “Addiction Unplugged” which focused on highlighting the opioid epidemic in America as well as solutions and successes in overcoming addiction. Reyes consults on and produces other television and film projects and has appeared in several documentaries and film productions.

Previously a collegiate athlete and MMA fighter, Reyes enjoyed a distinguished legal and venture career and was the American Bar Association’s first recipient of the Nationwide Most Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2008.

Since 2013, Reyes has served as Utah’s 21st Attorney General, its first minority statewide elected official, and the state’s top law enforcement leader. In that role, he has won re-election three times and was highlighted as a Republican Rising Star in 2015 by the Republican National Committee.

Using his venture and technology background, General Reyes has introduced and implemented multiple cutting-edge tools in law enforcement such as Rapid DNA, virtual violence de-escalation training, and other award-winning programs.

Reyes was also a driving force behind creating the national 988 hotline, the equivalent of 911 for mental health emergencies such as suicide and addiction. He is credited with pioneering mental health support for law enforcement in Utah.

He is also a co-creator of the nationally acclaimed Safe Utah App, which empowers children and adults in crisis to have access for free to experts in behavioral and mental health.

The app has not only provided a lifeline to thousands of Utahns battling depression, suicide ideation, substance abuse, and self-harm, it has helped thwart hundreds of cases of school violence involving guns, explosives, or other weapons.

General Reyes created the Utah@Ease program to pair Utah military service personnel and their families with free legal counsel without adding any cost to the State. He has been a national advocate for Veteran Affairs.

Reyes was spotlighted on the global stage when he gave a closing night speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention, focusing on his diverse roots, his immigrant father’s escape to America, and the AG partnering with POTUS to fight human trafficking and opioids.

In 2020, President Donald J. Trump recognized AG Reyes with a historic White House Award of Commendation for his work defending children, veterans, and Americans from numerous threats. He is a worldwide expert on technology innovation and regulation.

Among scores of national and local recognitions, awards, commendations, citations, and honors, Reyes was recognized at historic Lambeau Field in 2021 by the President of the Green Bay Packers with an NFL Jerry Kramer Man of the Year Award sponsored by the National Child ID program in partnership with the NFL.

In 2022, he was again spotlighted by coaches and athletes in America by being inducted into Pro Football’s Hall of Fame for Service and Volunteerism because of his work fighting human trafficking and exploitation of children. His jersey and ring were displayed in Canton, OH.

He is a multiple time TEDx speaker, has spoken on the main stage of CPAC, World Forum of Religion, and National Day of Prayer, and is a frequent contributor and commentator on several global media outlets.

A former ecclesiastical leader in his faith, he founded the Evangelical Task Force in Utah and has hosted Christian and other world religious leaders in his state to promote faith, family, and freedom.

He is Vice Chair of the Republican Attorneys General Association, past chair of the Rule of Law Defense Fund, and co-chairs the bi-partisan Attorney General Alliance to strengthen American and world security through global collaboration with other nations.

Reyes graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University and earned his law degree with honors from U.C. Berkeley while playing varsity volleyball for the Cal Golden Bears.

A former competitive MMA fighter, Reyes is also a self-avowed geek, speaking at numerous Comic Cons and making appearances on the History Channel’s hit show “The Legend of Skinwalker Ranch”. He speaks at video gaming and esports events like E3, has played the role of the Black Knight at Evermore Park, and has some of his collection of Marvel and DC memorabilia on display at his Capitol Office.

General Reyes and his wife of 26 years, Saysha, are the proud parents of six children.
